  1. Why does the Town of Waitsfield want to sign away one of it's most valuable resources... yes, all the things that bring people, probably you, to this Valley in the first place... the view, the quiet, the dark night sky, one of the few remaining place where you can hear yourself think, where moose, bear, deer, beavers, bats, bees and birds roam freely... to be dynamited into our collective history for ever by a large, out of state corporation.

Wind power is part of our energy future, and so are the mountaintops. Wind power has other appropriate locations, the mountains do not. The mountains have one location - Please do not destroy the mountains.

Solar power is much less intrusive because it is silent, it does not flash all night, when sited properly you will not even know it's there and it's installation causes far less destruction to the environment.

Looking forward to the 2010 Town Plan!

  2. Discreetly and responsibly placed net metered solar orchards that can be installed with little environmental impact, where all in the community can participate and directly benefit, offer a much better solution to bringing renewable energy generation to Vermont than an industrial wind facility on our irreplaceable ridge.
